About Cookies

Cookies are usually small text files which a website may put on your computer, tablet or mobile device [iPhone, Blackberry etc] when you first visit their website. The cookie can help the website to recognise your device the next time you visit. Web beacons or other similar small data files can also do the same thing. Metalexpertwitness.com use the term 'cookies' in this policy statement to refer to all files that collect information in this way.

There are many functions that cookies can serve. For example, they can help computers to remember your username and viewing preferences or they can analyse how well a website is performing. Cookies can also be used to recommend content that is likely to be suited to your browsing behaviour.

Some cookies contain personal information - for example, if you click 'remember me' when logging in on certain websites. Most cookies however won't collect information that identifies you, and will instead collect more general information such as how users arrive at and use a website [including number of page views, entry page, exit page etc] as well as a user's general location and user browser and similar technical information.
